Recruiting staff? Or know someone who is?
Especially targeted at raising the profile of the Christchurch tech sector as a great place to live, work and play, CDC has been working with local tech businesses to create some tools for tech companies to use when recruiting.
Have a look at http://www.cdc.org.nz/christchurch/ which covers moving to NZ and living in Christchurch including downloadable tools for potential migrants.
There is a lot of information about the Christchurch tech sector including sub-sectors, the collaboration, FluxNZ and profiles of a range of companies, along with people who have moved here from offshore and others who went to school in NZ and talk about why they love living here http://www.cdc.org.nz/christchurch/it-jobs/
Messages are being promoted via Workhere (offshore recruitment toolhttp://www.workhere.co.nz/region/canterbury/work-here), the KEA network and through SEO.
Companies are encouraged to use the messages and images in their own recruitment and employer branding, or to simply share the CDC web pages with their potential employees.
A new LinkedIn group has also been set up called Christchurch Aspirations aimed at skilled people offshore who are looking at a move to Christchurch and businesses are encouraged to post company good news stories and engage in discussions.
Don’t have a specialist HR person on your team?
CDC has also developed an Employers’ Toolbox with suggestions and links to help in recruitment, retention, employer branding and workforce planning.
If this isn’t relevant to you directly, remember to share this information with those in your team who could benefit from knowing about these tools.
