Although there have been health hackathons in the past, this will be the first Health Startup Weekend in NZ.
What is a Startup Weekend? It’s where business people, entrepreneurs, developers and designers team up to form new businesses or turn a new idea in to reality, in the space of 54 hours.
Developers are the people who can do clever things with code and technology. Designers are those who can make things and experiences beautiful. The non-technical people bring a business alive through business models, marketing, or other entrepreneurial voodoo including healthcare workers, researchers, policy folk, administrators, academics, health-techies and any others that work in the health sector .
The Health Startup Weekend (Wellington) website: http://bit.ly/swwlg-health has more details such as:

Sponsorship is important. It makes the weekend possible. There are four packages – $500, $1000, $2500 and $5000
