Workchoice is a charity helping senior students to gain workplace insight to enable them to make informed decisions about their futures. They are running two events this year – one aimed at students going straight to the workplace and one aimed at teachers.
For each event they are looking for:
- Individuals to speak at both events about employment opportunities in their sector, getting jobs in the tech sector/businesses, what skills/experience you look for in new recruits etc. Panel speakers need knowledge about sector wide talent needs and what a career within can offer.
- Companies to host groups of about 15-20 students (11thJune) or 5-10 teachers (28th August); 1-2.30pm on each day. This would specifically suit companies who offer a diverse array of job opportunities, already recruit school leavers, want to raise their employment branding to youth, are having difficulty filling entry level roles, are passionate about youth and want to showcase their industry/job/career.

Earn and Learn (Student Event) – 11th June
The Workchoice Earn & Learn programme arms each student with the key skills they need to successfully understand the employment process and market themselves to today’s employers.
Local employers and industry experts will deliver valuable advice about recruitment, career planning, and work readiness in a conference setting. An afternoon visit to an actual workplace will provide the workplace exposure students need to put this knowledge into context.
Workchoice Teachers’ Day (Educators Event) – 28th August
Workchoice Teachers’ Day offers a fantastic opportunity for professional development to Careers Advisors, Teachers and Senior Management of secondary schools, giving educators a fresh look at the world of work for increased industry knowledge and understanding that can be taken back in to the classroom.
