SUMMARY:Product Tank:
DESCRIPTION:May Meet up at Comrad\nFrom Product Delivery to Product Enablement: Closing the Gap in a B2B2C World: Talk by Lara Moeller \nI’ll share how our team evolved from a traditional product‑delivery function into a proactive product‑enablement capability—one focused not just on shipping features\, but on ensuring customers can use our product effectively and at scale.\nWorking in a B2B2C environment\, we uncovered a critical gap: many of our customers didn’t fully understand the digital and health‑literacy needs of their own patients. As a result\, they configured our product in ways that unintentionally created friction for end users—and ultimately undermined our north‑star metrics. \nBy analysing utilisation patterns\, identifying recurring configuration issues\, and partnering closely with customers to optimise setup and workflows\, we developed a new\, data‑driven enablement model that improved both customer outcomes and product performance. \nThis talk will explore what we learned\, how we adapted our operating model\, the impact we’ve seen so far\, and where we’re heading next as we continue to scale a product‑enablement approach across our customer base.

SUMMARY:Down in Minutes. Recovery Takes Everyone
DESCRIPTION:A real story of 11 days inside a cyber incident. \nWe all think cyber attacks happen to someone else. Until they don’t….. \n  \nNik Joyce from Christchurch Medtech company MediMap will share a real story of 11 days inside a live incident – and why coming back is far harder than going down. \nIn 2026\, Nik led MediMap through a major cyber incident\, managing response and recovery while the platform remained critical to day-to-day care. The experience reshaped how MediMap approaches data\, security\, and system resilience across a complex\, connected ecosystem. \nNik brings a practical\, no-nonsense perspective focused on what actually happens when systems fail and what it takes to recover. For those that haven’t met Nik before in the Healthtech world\, this won’t be a dry data talk think more Edinburgh Fringe comedy evening! \nWhat You’ll Get From This Talk \n\nA real-world view of what a cyber incident actually feels like beyond the headlines\nWhy most organisations don’t fully understand how their data and systems are really used\nThe hidden complexity of recovery and why it’s harder than failure\nHow small\, everyday data behaviours combine to create real risk\nWhat actually matters when everything goes wrong:\n\nhonesty and openness\nclear thinking under pressure\nsequencing recovery properly\n\n\n\n  \nAbout our speaker Nik Joyce \n  \n \n  \nNik Joyce is Head of Product and Delivery at MediMap\, responsible for building\, running\, and supporting a medication management platform used across aged care in New Zealand and Australia. \nNik leads across product\, engineering delivery\, customer support\, and customer success\, working at the point where digital systems meet real-world clinical environments where systems do not just need to work\, they need to hold under pressure. \nWith decades of experience across data\, identity\, and security\, Nik has worked with organisations including Experian\, Equifax\, GBG Group\, and NHS England and Wales. This experience provides a clear understanding of how data is used\, connected\, and exploited beyond its original context. \n  \nThank you to our sponsors: \nEvent Sponsor:   \n \nThanks to Rachael Tobeck\, and the team at Younity\, a locally owned IT recruitment company specialising in technology\, digital & business transformation across New Zealand. SUMMARY:UXCHCH: Designing how it feels
DESCRIPTION:In UX\, we spend a lot of time thinking about flows\, usability\, and reducing friction. But people don’t remember a workflow; they remember how that workflow made them feel. \nIn this interactive session facilitated by Kathryn Ruge\, we’ll explore the often-overlooked driver of user experience: emotion. Combining practical tools with behavioural insight\, she’ll show us how emotions shape memory\, decision-making\, and our overall perception of a product or service. \nCome along and learn how to:\n• Think about UX in terms of emotion\, not just usability\n• Identify the feelings you want users to have (and not have)\n• Spot unintended emotional friction in your designs\n• Use a simple tool to bring emotional insight into your work\n• Design experiences that are not just usable\, but memorable \nDue to the hands-on nature of this meetup\, numbers are capped at 30 people in the room. As always\, the session will be recorded and shared on our YouTube channel for those who can’t attend live. \nAbout the Speaker\nKathryn is a leadership coach and consultant focused on improving people’s experience of work. Her coaching\, workshops\, and professional development programmes help people lead\, relate\, and get things done in team environments. She brings experience across a wide range of organisations and contexts in both the private and public sectors\, and outside of work is completing a part-time Master’s in Psychology and Neuroscience while co-parenting two teenagers\, one young adult\, and two Border Collies. \nAgenda\n5:00pm • Doors open\, networking + refreshments\n5:30pm • Presentation starts\n6:30pm • More networking\n7:00pm • Event close \nA big thank you to MadeCurious for providing the event space for us to meet. If you’re interested in what they do\, check out their LinkedIn page. \nMadeCurious HQ information: \n\nWe have x2 mobility car parks available and wheelchair access into the building\nIf you have any accessibility needs\, please let us know so we can make sure to cater for them\nLimited car parking will be available onsite (MadeCurious. labelled signs) and ample street parking close by the office\nThere is a bike shed at the back of the parking lot where you can park your bicycle.

SUMMARY:Christchurch BA & Beyond meetup - April [Workshop: Context-first BAs]
DESCRIPTION:We are back for our May 2026 meetup. This month we are getting hands on with another group workshop – the plan for this session is: \n\nNetworking\nGroup Workshop – “A context-first BA framework”\nContext has always been critical for us as BAs\, but often the definition of this context has been implicit\, rather than explicit (eg\, we know how to work within an organisation because we have experienced it – but we don’t necessarily sit down and document that context …).\nSo how does this change as we become more and more integrated with AI tools? How do we make context sharing more deliberate (and reusable)?\nJoin us as we workshop a ‘context-first BA framework’ model – and try to establish what that would really mean within our BA practices!
