We’re made up of tech-focused and tech-enabled businesses, as well as the teams who support and supply the sector. We’re big on supporting students, with free memberships and events that are great for anyone exploring a future in tech or making a career move.

Right now, we’ve got 135 individual members, more than 200 companies, and over 200 student members. Our events are welcoming, energising, and a great place to connect.

As an non-Cantabrian business, the Canterbury Tech membership has allowed us to connect with and indirectly support the amazing local technology scene. Helping us network, providing recommendations, and supporting our events.

Canterbury Tech is an excellent way for us as an EDA to connect into the tech sector and better understand the challenges and opportunities our businesses are facing. The monthly meetups have a great range of speakers but for us the real value is being able to connect with a couple hundred representatives from a broad range of businesses and sub-sectors in one room – and also to help them connect with each other.

Pushing myself to get up and speak in front of 800 people was one of those “feel the fear and do it anyway” moments. Honestly, it was nerve-wracking, but the Canterbury Tech community is so supportive that it made the whole experience incredible.

What really stood out? The amazing people I got to work with, the sense of community, and the thrill of taking on such a big challenge. But honestly, the best part was the connections we built along the way. Oh, and the party afterward—because what’s a summit without a little celebration?
