Board Nominations for 2025
If you want to contribute to the dynamic leadership and innovation that drives Canterbury Tech forward and help shape the technology community in our region, we’d love to hear from you – nominations open in October.
What We’re Looking For
We need passionate people who available to dedicate 3-5 hours per week to help the tech community with governance responsibilities, attending Board meetings and decision-making, identifying and preparing speakers, volunteering with operational projects, and participating in our key major events, like TechSummit. If you’re enthusiastic about fostering collaboration and innovation in Canterbury Tech’s ecosystem, this could be the perfect role for you.
Desired Skills and Expertise
We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with one or more of the following skills (no order of preference), and a combination of skills would be ideal:
- Technology business leadership (Founders, CEOs)
- Extensive networks within electronics and hardware sector
- Hands-on senior software development experience and strong software development industry networks
- Legal and compliance expertise, especially in non-profit organisations or other Incorporated Societies
- Previous Board or governance experience, especially in non-profit organisations or other Incorporated Societies
- Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance Impacts Reporting) experience
- Project management skills
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Public Relations and Media professionals connected to technology sector specifically

By joining Canterbury Tech’s Board, you’ll play a key role in shaping the direction of our organisation. You’ll help execute our 2025-2028 Strategy, which aims to drive member engagement, boost visibility, ensure financial sustainability, and support strong governance.

- 28 November – Voting Closes
- 1 December – Nominees Notified
- 2 December – AGM New board announced
