Stephen Codd
I’m passionate about helping people connect, learn, and grow in Canterbury’s tech community. I focus on creating opportunities for those new to tech and mid-career to develop skills, build networks, and gain confidence. I aim to foster a welcoming, collaborative environment where members can share knowledge, grow together, and thrive. I want to help Canterbury Tech continue to inspire its members and strengthen the region’s vibrant, future-focused tech ecosystem.
What specific expertise can you bring to Canterbury Tech Board?
I bring practical experience in technology leadership, project delivery, and team management across corporate, local government, and education sectors. I’m skilled at turning strategy into actionable initiatives, connecting people and ideas, and fostering collaborative environments where learning and growth flourish. This equips me to contribute effectively to Canterbury Tech’s governance, help shape impactful initiatives, and support members especially those new to tech and mid-career in developing skills, networks, and confidence across the community.
What do you see are the top three opportunities to advancing the tech sector in Canterbury?
-
Strengthening connections: So people new to tech and mid-career can learn, grow, and feel supported.
-
Creating practical ways for skills development: Through mentoring, workshops, and shared experiences.
-
Raising Canterbury’s tech profile: To attract talent, collaboration, and new ideas. These initiatives will help build a connected, confident, and resilient community that supports both members and the region’s growing tech ecosystem.
What would be your first point of action/suggestion on the Board if you were to be elected?
My first action is to support new-to-tech and mid-career members in connecting, learning, and growing through mentoring, practical workshops, and engaging events.
