Cat Moody is a Principal Consultant at MartinJenkins, a New Zealand-owned advisory firm that works primarily with the public sector and is driven by a purpose of helping make Aotearoa New Zealand a better place.
In this session, Cat will share practical insights from Martin Jenkins’ own AI adoption journey, alongside reflections on broader AI adoption trends emerging across public sector New Zealand organisations. The discussion will explore how a New Zealand-owned business has approached AI adoption, what has proven useful in practice, the challenges encountered along the way, and what has been learned from surveying staff about their use of AI.
The session will also introduce some emerging thinking on AI maturity, including the organisational capabilities and conditions that can help support successful adoption and how leading through this change is both similar and different to leading through other types of change.
Attendees will gain a practical view of AI adoption in practice, including lessons learned, common challenges, and considerations for organisations looking to move beyond experimentation towards more consistent and sustainable use of AI.
