As part of the Digital Technology Industry Transformation Plan, the tech sector and the Government have collaborated on a detailed analysis of the current and forecast digital skills landscape in New Zealand.
For the first time, data has been aggregated across the entire digital skills pipeline, from school to tertiary education, from education to employment, from within the market and from immigration. This has resulted in the publication of a 100-page analysis, DIGITAL SKILLS AOTEAROA – Digital Skills for our Digital Future.
The report findings will be presented by Graeme Muller of NZTech with plenty of time allowed for discussion.
Hear from Nigel Young about the work-in-progress Maori tech apprenticeships programme. Nigel is the Head of Department for Enterprise and Digital Innovation at Ara Institute of Canterbury. He is helping activate a Christchurch work-based learning programme for rangatahi (youth) with a view to national deployment. The initiative will begin to address some of the issues identified by Digital Skills Aotearoa, specifically the significant under-representation of Maori in the tech sector.
Join us with other supporters of this research project, hear the report highlights and network with your peers.
This is a joint Canterbury Tech/ NZ Tech event kindly hosted by the team at Orbica.
