“Building for love, not money” with Matt McFedries

Matt is a two-time founder and a creative at heart. He began his career in software in the late 1990s, holding roles in web design, software development, implementation, sales, and as CEO and co-founder. Matt will share the ups and downs of startup life, from starting his first business in 2007, leading to the successful exit of Debtor Daddy to CreditorWatch in 2022. He’ll also share why he’s doing it all over again in 2025.

In this talk Matt will share his journey and insights on:

• Finding a problem to solve and the value of side projects.
• Validating your idea and the quest for product-market fit.
• Failing forward. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
• Trusting your instincts and ignoring advice.
• Why money is just a conversation, but cash flow is a b*tch.
• Choosing a co-founder & building a team.
• Starting from scratch in the AI-age.
