Building Better Products Together
Digital product delivery is a team sport—so we’re thrilled to team up with the Agile and Product Tank communities for our June meetup at MadeCurious HQ. Join us for an evening of shared learning as Iryna from Octopus Deploy and Jacob from Rough.app unpack how they’ve used and adapted the Shape Up method to ship better products.
About the talk
Originally developed by Ryan Singer at Basecamp, Shape Up is a product development approach with strong relevance for UX design. It offers a fresh take on how we shape and deliver work, with key principles that resonate across disciplines, including:
– Shaping over Sprint Planning – UX is involved early, defining the work before the build begins.
– Problem-Led, not Feature-Led – Focus stays on solving real user problems, not ticking off a backlog.
– Constraints Drive Creativity – Fixed timeboxes and clear boundaries help teams prioritise and simplify.
– Designers as Deciders – UX roles are empowered to make decisions, not just hand off designs.
Agenda
We’ll have a slightly different format for this one with a short presentation and then a Q&A panel afterwards:
