Women In Tech (WIT): Outsourcing Executive Functions: Neurodiversity & AI with Information Leadership

April 9 @ 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Outsourcing Executive Functions: How Neurodiverse Workers Can Leverage Generative AI

At our next meetup we’ll hear from Information Leadership’s Ash Lindquist on how generative AI tools like Microsoft Copilot can serve as a powerful aid for neurodiverse individuals in the workplace, particularly when it comes to executive functioning challenges.

Many neurodiverse workers—including those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other neurodevelopmental disorders—possess remarkable strengths such as creative thinking, pattern recognition, and specialised knowledge. However, these same individuals often face significant challenges with executive functions: the cognitive processes that help us plan, organise, initiate tasks, manage time, and maintain focus.

Ash’s insightful presentation will begin at 6:00pm and demonstrate how generative AI tools can effectively serve as “an executive assistant,” allowing neurodiverse talent to offload cognitive demands that don’t align with their natural processing styles while maximising their unique capabilities and contributions.

By strategically delegating certain executive tasks to AI assistants, neurodiverse workers can conserve cognitive energy for their areas of brilliance—creating a more inclusive workplace that benefits from diverse thinking styles while providing meaningful accommodations that don’t require disclosing neurodivergence or requesting special treatment.

Stick around following the 30-minute presentation for Q&A and networking.
