Technology is now the second biggest sector in the Canterbury region and there are many opportuntities to invest in innovative startups, scale ups or even bring your own business to the region to expand.

Ministry of Awesome is located on the Ara campus. It has a wide range of programs.

Startup Aotearoa - involves pairing an early-stage founder with a mentor who’s been there and done that. You get around 10 free coaching sessions but this could be more or less dependent on needs.

And two fast-paced Accelerator programs that each require 12-weeks of your time.

Electrify Accelerator- for startups with women and non-binary founders and focuses heavily on investment readiness

Energy Accelerator- in collaboration with Orion, the Orion Energy Accelerator. 'Supports high impact energy innovations that will help New Zealand move towards a carbon neutral future.'

If you have 6 months..
The Founder Catalyst- may be for you. You’ll learn about market, globalisation and funding. This can either be in person at MOA’s Christchurch headquarters or virtually.

Located in the historical Arts centre, close to Ernest Rutherford's original laboratory,  this shared workspace boasts a cohort of Health and wellness start ups. The proximity with the Christchurch and Christchurch women's hospital means that collborative partnerships are easy to form.

Regular healthtech meetups allow founders to connect with expertise to scale up.

 Rent by the desk or larger tenanacies available.

Students from a range of faculties including the world class engineering departments, look to commercialise their research or ideas.
