Real people. Real jobs. Real outcomes.
Hiring in tech is rarely straightforward. Organisations need the right technical skills, but they also need people who’ll thrive in their culture and lift the team around them. Getting that match right takes more than a quick scan of CVs — it takes deep networks, strong relationships, and a recruiter who actually understands the sector.
That’s the space Younity has carved out over the past 16 years. As a specialist IT recruitment company, they connect Kiwi organisations with tech and digital talent right across Aotearoa, with a clear focus on consistent delivery, true partnership, and outcomes that work for both clients and candidates.
A different way of working
What sets Younity apart is the way the team operates. When you work with them, you don’t get a single consultant — you get the whole crew. Every assignment is a collective effort: networks are pooled, candidates are shared, and the team works together to find the right person, fast. The result is a more human, more connected recruitment experience, with real value added at every step.
Now on the ground in Ōtautahi
In August 2025, Younity opened its Christchurch office — a milestone the team had been working towards for a long time. The office is led by Rachael Tobeck, one of Canterbury’s most respected tech recruiters, who brings 14 years of experience and deep roots in the local community.
Having Rachael based here means Younity can be closer to its South Island clients and candidates and deliver even stronger outcomes across the motu.
Why Canterbury matters
Canterbury has one of the most supportive, innovative, and active tech communities in the country, and Younity is proud to be part of it. The team is passionate about New Zealand’s tech industry, and they see Canterbury’s tech sector as a major contributor to that story. Their goal is simple: help local employers find the talent they need to grow, and help Canterbury’s tech professionals land roles where they’ll truly shine.
The challenge worth watching in 2026
Younity believes Canterbury tech companies have a real opportunity to compete on the global stage — but that cuts both ways. The same connectivity that lets local businesses sell globally also means local people can work for overseas companies without ever leaving Christchurch.
Attracting and keeping good people is the key challenge right now. The businesses that stand out on culture, purpose and flexibility — not just salary — will have the competitive edge.
What’s next
Over the next 6 to 12 months, Younity is focused on raising the bar across the business: building on what they already do well, expanding regionally, and deepening their expertise across key technology sectors. As the team puts it, they don’t believe in standing still.
