BioTechNZ and NZTech are thrilled to announce the launch of the Life Sciences Summit 2023. This inaugural event will unite Aotearoa New Zealand’s life sciences and biotech communities across all sectors, including agriculture, environment, industrial as well as human health.
The event will recognise New Zealand’s biotechnology capability while promoting research and commercialisation opportunities now and in the future to solve the biggest challenges on the planet.
BioTechNZ’s Zahra Champion says “New Zealand is recognised globally for our innovation potential in biotech, ranking fourth in the world. Currently, our vibrant biotech sector is small but growing, including 211 companies and $2.7 billion revenues. With the global biotechnology market expected to reach NZD 1.1 trillion by 2025, it makes sense that we explore all possible opportunities.
There has never been a more important time to elevate the science of making our world more resilient by sustainably transforming the food system, protecting our environment, and facilitating breakthroughs in health, green energy and biobased manufacturing.”
