The 2020 Hopkins Lecture will be given by Ian Taylor of Animation Research at UC on Tues 20 October at 6:00pm. This is a free public lecture, hosted by the University of Canterbury and supported by Engineering NZ.
Thirty years ago Ian Taylor founded Animation Research Ltd, now recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading software computer graphics companies. On Friday March 13th, in less than 24 hours, COVID 19 brought the company’s global sports business to a spectacular halt.
Ian will entertain and inspire as he shares the story of how his team, working under lockdown, combined technology, number 8 wire and Kiwi ingenuity to resurrect their business and open doors that did not exist before the pandemic hit.
