Are you a woman looking to get into tech, or a tech business looking to recruit?
After two successful Careers in Tech events connecting women interested in tech and tech businesses we are following up with an event targeting women who have tech experience, skills and/or qualifications and come from international backgrounds; and businesses who are actively looking to recruit junior and mid-level roles. We have heard from women who have attended our previous events that the challenges they face as migrants getting into the tech sector are different, and that they would like an event that speaks to them directly, addresses some of their challenges and allows the opportunity for them to connect directly with employers.
The format of the event will be 2-3 speakers who are working in tech, from migrant backgrounds; a talk on local tech work & recruitment culture; an informal discussion on some of the challenges these women encounter; and facilitated networking between the women and employers. This is an opportunity for potential tech talent and businesses looking to recruit to connect, and also to provide support and encouragement to these women as they pursue a tech career in Christchurch.
