James began this project with a clear goal: to fill a gap in New Zealand’s property market by creating a user-friendly platform that supports Kiwis through every step of their property journey – from buying and selling to building.
In this presentation, he will share the development journey of realtor.co.nz, focusing on practical and technical solutions – all done alongside a demanding day job and managing a personal remote build project.
There were certainly challenges along the way. Managing the development of realtor.co.nz required prioritisation and problem-solving, particularly as the platform was refined to meet users’ needs. It was a balancing act, but the team remained focused on creating a resource that simplifies the property process and offers clear, practical guidance to everyday Kiwis.
In this presentation, Jame will guide you through the steps taken to bring realtor.co.nz to life, covering the business decisions we made and the technical elements that shaped the platform. This is a story not of dramatic moments but of steady progress, practical solutions, and a strong commitment to making property transactions easier to understand for New Zealanders.
