Canterbury Tech is an excellent way for us as an EDA to connect into the tech sector and better understand the challenges and opportunities our businesses are facing. The monthly meetups have a great range of speakers but for us the real value is being able to connect with a couple hundred representatives from a broad range of businesses and sub-sectors in one room – and also to help them connect with each other.
Canterbury Tech is a valued partner of ChristchurchNZ and provides a huge amount of support in the talent/pathways to tech space; and in the promotion and reputation of the local sector nationally and beyond.
Grid Share has had the opportunity to present its mission and unique solutions to the CT community, resulting in many follow-up network connections including technical expertise, potential capital investment as well as just generally valuable feedback from CT membership.
We are also finding the major events like the Tech Summit and Tech Week or other events CT support are great opportunities to engage outside the Canterbury tech community to wider NZ and beyond bringing the ability to interact international guests and speakers.
No other community in NZ brings together as broad of a cross section of people and talent while also giving us connections and the support to make you feel included and supported.
If you are serious about growing your career or business, meeting driven, passionate like-minded people who you will learn from, who can help and support you, or just chat to people who actually understand what you do, all in a inclusive, engaging and fun community, you are doing yourself a disservice if you are not a member or coming along to events.
As an non-Cantabrian business, the Canterbury Tech membership has allowed us to connect with and indirectly support the amazing local technology scene. Helping us network, providing recommendations, and supporting our events.
The Canterbury Tech team and fellow members are just amazing and you can tell everyone loves what they do. There are numerous tech communities around the country but the openness and the scope of what Canterbury Tech achieves is a notch above.
