| Canterbury Tech is calling for nominations for the 2022 Canterbury Tech committee. There are two (2) positions to be elected. Voting will take place from 30 November – 5 December 2021 via an online voting platform.
Our committee consists of six (6) elected committee members and in addition, can include up to 3 ex-officio members and associate members as appointed by the committee.
As per our constitution, two (2) elected members must step down each year or stand for re-election. This year, Patrick Keo is standing for re-election and Brent O’Meagher, our current Chair is stepping down from the committee.
Voting in the election is open to financial members of Canterbury Tech. Each individual member or member company is entitled to one vote (per paid membership).
We hope to receive a record number of nominations with a view to having a diverse, talented and dedicated pool of candidates.
Being elected on the committee gives you the opportunity to play an important role in advancing Canterbury as a tech hub, connects you with key individuals working in the sector locally and nationally, and is a great way to give back to the community. This is a voluntary role and committee members should have an interest in, and some understanding of the local tech sector.
Candidates must be current fully-paid members (corporate – employed within a member company or individual) of Canterbury Tech.
Regardless of the current relationship with Canterbury Tech, all candidates must complete the Application Form and demonstrate passion and a commitment to carrying out the key objectives of Canterbury Tech in helping to grow, connect & inspire our members. Skills and or experience in Governance, IT support or marketing, would be helpful but not essential.

Election Timeline
- Tuesday 16 November – Nominations Open
- Tuesday 23 November – Deadline for Submissions, Nominations Close 5pm
- Tuesday 30 November – Electronic Voting Opens at midday
- Sunday 5 December – Electronic Voting Closes at 5pm
- Tuesday 7 December – New Committee announced at the AGM
